Basic FDIC Insurance Coverage Permanently 
Increased to $250,000 Per Depositor

 The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act signed by President Barack Obama on July 21, 2010, made permanent the current standard maximum deposit insurance amount (SMDIA) of $250,000. The FDIC coverage limit applies per depositor, per insured depository institution, for each account ownership category.

Protecting our customers against 
online scams

We are trained as bankers to be aware of the many types of scams that are surfacing in today's world. Unfortunately, our customers too often become the prime target of scams designed to steal their personal financial information. As financial institutions, it is our responsibility to keep customers aware of the scams and to help them learn what they can do to protect themselves.

Tips to keep in mind:

 Do not reply to e-mail or pop-up messages that ask for personal or  financial information, and don't click on links within the message.

Contact your financial institution using the phone number listed on their financial statement

Be cautious if they receive an e-mail stating that they have won a lottery or a prize.

Review your bank statements as soon as they are available to check for unauthorized charges

FDIC Transaction Account Guarantee Program

Fidelity Bank & Trust is participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through December 31, 2010, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account.

Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
